Concept Reflection:
Throughout my research and creative experimentations, I have discovered the historical relevance of the connection of water and Fort Lane. I've been intrigued to explore my site, Imperial Lanes greater surrounding water sources such as The Waihoritu stream that connects the lower end of the city to the upper end on Queens Street. As well as exploring the historical aspect of Fort Lane as it was one the shore line of Auckland City prior to urban land reclamation. My goal is transform Imperial Lane that embraces water and light qualities by creating a sensory space that creates a unique experience for city goers. The physical and immaterial qualities I implement into the space will create a concept of tranquility, calmness and embracing of connection. Moreover, I want to transform the site that is currently seen as a bypass into a permanent destination.
I decided to do my story board sequence as a digital drawing as I felt that I was able to convey my ideas more clearly, for instance immateriality and atmosphere plays a large role in my design proposal and I felt that with an incorporation of digital collage - this was the best way to display my ideas.
